antimatter

In 1932, Carl Anderson photographed a positron in a cloud chamber — the first antiparticle ever detected, confirming Dirac's 1928 relativistic quantum theory and opening the field of antimatter physics.

Paul Dirac's 1928 equation predicted antimatter and unified quantum mechanics with relativity. Explore his physics, legendary silence, and remarkable life.

For every particle of matter, physics predicts a mirror twin made of antimatter. We make it, store it, and use it in medicine — but we still don't know why the universe has so little of it.
