The Fox Domestication Experiment: Breeding Tameness in Real Time
Starting in 1959, Soviet geneticist Dmitry Belyaev selectively bred silver foxes for tameness alone. Within a few generations, the foxes developed floppy ears, piebald coats, and dog-like behavior.
